SACO (Sociedad de Aviación de Colombia)
The SERVICIO AEREO COLOMBIANO operated a daily air service between Medellin and Bogota. similar surface express companies were allowed to carry mail but SCADTA had a total monopoly by air so that in theory SACO should have confined its attention to newspapers, parcels and other freight. However, some letters were in fact carried but, to avoid attracting undue attention, no special stamps were used. They contented themselves with ordinary government stamps plus 200 % paid in cash at the SACO offices and cancelled these either with

Incidentally, the mail had to be collected by the addressees at the aerodroms. In spite of these precautions, the authorities came to here of the service and put a stop to it. In their (SACO's) announcement to their customers they has their revenge by referring to SCADTA as a German Company. According to Gebauer, SACO was alter taken over by SCADTA.
