Item: 9081-A20-1858:

Originaly a cover sent from Nepal to Phari in Tibet by mail and from there to Lhasa by private agent was
manipulated to be a combicover. The postmark is a forgery of the PENAM postmark. Fortunately UNSOLD.

Six copies of stamps from the 1933 set. The halftranka descr. to be the rare Ochre-Yellow, 1 tr a Deep Lake.
Both are classic forgeries (Waterfall 2nd set).

Item: 9081-A20-1807               Sold for €420

Cover with a 2 tranka plus a bisected 4 tranka. Despite the certificate this is a manipulated inland
mail. The PHARI postmark is a forgery.

I beleive that also lot 1771 is manipulated.
 
The upper postmark does not tie the cover, the bottom postmark looks like drawn on the cover and does not match the circle of the postmark on the stamp. Any opinion?

Yes Rainer, you are fully correct. It is probably one of those privately carried covers later used to manipulate
with stamp additions. More difficult to see because the forger has used genuine stamps. However the lower
postmark is prolonged by hand on the cover and the faker did a bad job, since, like you said Rainer, the
total "postmark" is not even circulair (does not match). The owner of this Tibetcollection Gärtner split up
in their November auction had a good collection and he must have been familiar with Tibetan philately. We
see even so these forgers fool you. And Dahnke wrote a certificate for a faked cover! So that is going on
now is not good for Tibetan philately. So Rainer, what can we do to stop this? And is it even possible?
