The first so called "Bagheri-Issue" has been put on sale in 1868 and why this issue if called "Bagheri-Issue" is not known. The Barre's Proofs, which were the base for these stamps, had been prepared in 5 clichés for each of the for nominations. Out of these 5 clichés, 4 clichés of each nomination have been chosen as follows:

Nomination Selected Barre Cliches Quantity Printed
1 Shahi Types 2, 3, 4, 5 3000
2 Shahis Types 1, 3, 4, 5 5000
4 Shahis Types 1, 2, 3, 5 8000
8 Shahis Types 1, 2, 4, 5 6000

As it can be seen, the 4 Shahi value was the most common one so, surprisingly, from this value I have the least number of stamps in my collection. The Bagheri issue was printed in block (sheets) of four stamps.I have never seen a complete sheet of four stamps.. but I am certain one or more complete sheets have survived.

The Paper and color for this issue had been bought on demand in the bazaar, with the effect that these stamps exist in many different color shades, printed on a variety of paper.

The block, or should I call it sheet, was cut into singles afterwards and 100 of each nomination was packed into envelopes. On this envelope a stamps of the respective nomination has been affixed which was marked in Persian manuscript "Yek-Sad Adad" (100 pieces).
A copy of such a stamp in the 8 ch. value is shown below
