Due to the popularity of the Iranian stamps by collectors abroad and orders received for the horizontal sheets of the 1875 issue by the postal administration and in absence of the one Shahi and four Shahis stamps which were the mostly needed stamps to make the five Shahis letter rate, the post office decided to reprint these two values by the same method they were printed in 1785. It is noteworthy to remember that there was an available stock of the two Shahis blue and eight Shahis green, therefore there was no need to reprint those two other denominations. These stamps were printed on un-gummed stout coarse paper ad remained imperforated. The Official Re-Issues were never postally used.
