These pages are
dedicated to the fascinating stamps and postal history of Tibet.
Tibet: the name of this country is synonymous with the exotic, esoteric
and mystic – and even today, as part of the People’s Republic of China,
Tibet is constantly in the news.
As a stamp collector you cannot ignore the political realities, as these
developments had an immense impact on
the postal history of Tibet.
These web pages are dedicated to the so-called local postal service of
Tibet, which constitutes the main part of Tibetan Postal History.
Nevertheless, in order to foster an understanding of the country’s postal
history and the historical implications, other areas of Tibetan postal
history will also be mentioned.
Maybe I can encourage a few collectors to start a Tibetan collection as
well; I have never regretted that decision which I made over 30 years
ago
Please navigate through the site by using the menu on the left; however,
please note that these pages are undergoing a major facelift and not
all links are working at present.
Also the images on some pages are very old and will be replaced in due
course.
